Angirratsaliulauqta – The Nunavut Inuit Housing Action Plan (NIHAP) – Working Draft

This plan aims to coordinate and guide the resources and actions of Designated Inuit Organizations in their intervention in Nunavut’s long-standing housing crisis and help meet the full range of housing needs of Nunavut Inuit.

The NIHAP is a comprehensive plan designed to tackle the key challenges that have hindered the provision of housing and will deliver concrete results to improve the supply and affordability of housing for Inuit in both the immediate and longer term. Through this plan, Inuit organizations in Nunavut are bringing together their considerable experience in construction, investment management and the development of housing and capacity development-related policies and supports to create an expanded and coordinated effort to improve housing conditions for Inuit significantly.

Topics include: investment through funding and partners, housing fund and management structure, budget management, construction, project planning and design, operations and maintenance, and capacity development (community, individual, business).
