Job Description

The Communications Manager position reports to the Director of Communications. The chosen candidate is responsible for implementing the communications plan and managing the content strategy of The Centre. They are also responsible for coordinating communications projects.

About the Centre

The Community Housing Transformation Centre works across Canada to ensure the transformation, sustainability and growth of community-housing services in order to achieve housing for all. We identify and facilitate the development of expertise, resources and promising practices for the sector. The Centre achieves its mission by helping community-housing providers (cooperatives and non-profit housing) and sector bodies (associations, federations, etc.) to find solutions to their financial and organizational challenges. To accomplish this, The Centre manages several grant funds worth nearly $50 million.

Profile needed

We are looking for a result-oriented individual who is comfortable working independently.

The selected candidate must

  • Have a university degree in communications or public relations, and two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a similar position. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Possess extensive knowledge of social media
  • Adhere to the Centre’s values, mission and strategic direction
  • Have knowledge of community housing (an asset)
  • Have knowledge of Salesforce (an asset)

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Communications in the preparation and implementation of The Centre’s communications plan
  • Create, under the supervision of the Director of Communications, a content strategy
  • Write newsletters
  • Manage social media
  • Coordinate the content distribution calendar
  • Monitor news and events
  • Coordinate relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Contribute to the positive image of The Centre and its mission
  • Perform other related tasks
