Aging in our co-op communities – A survey of housing co-ops in Canada

With the growing population of Canadian seniors, aging in place has become a significant topic. Many seniors prefer to stay in their own homes instead of moving to assisted living facilities, often requiring in-home support, assistive devices, and home modifications. This survey aimed to collect data on the needs of older co-op members and gain insights into the supports, accommodations, and challenges they face as they age in their homes. The results have guided CHF Canada’s work plan on aging in place and informed the Aging in Place Committee’s next steps.
Topics include: Aging, co-op communities, housing co-op, Canada, survey
