The National Housing Council commissioned Blueprint ADE to research and analyse the implementation of the Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI). The RHI program offers financial contributions to affordable housing providers. The research for the report included stakeholder interview summaries.
The findings included:
– There is support for the RHI program and it was seen as an effective program to address deep housing need,
– The opportunities to improve the RHI include: improving predictability of the funding, stronger funding agreements, organizational support from CMHC, increased transparency and fairness, and broadening reach among Indigenous organizations.
The report provides advice to the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion
