[Issue 9] Making the most of the case management hearing

The new eviction system for housing co-ops was implemented on June 1, 2014, bringing changes to the Co-operative Corporations Act and the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA). Under the new law, most evictions are now handled by the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) after the co-op’s internal process is completed. The educational series “Evictions: What co-ops need to know” is an educational series to help Ontario co-ops understand and work with the new eviction system. This issue looks at case management hearings, explores how cooperatives can use them, and gives tips on how to prepare for them.
Topics include: case management hearing, Cooperative Housing Federation, dispute resolution, practical suggestions, requirements
