This page announces the development of the Black Community Housing Resource Centre (BCHC) led by the Network for the Advancement of Black Communities (NABC).
According to NABC’s website, the BCHC aims to dismantle barriers, empower Black-led organizations, and usher in a new era of improved housing outcomes for Black communities across Canada. It will provide specialized services to Black communities and organizations interested in accessing funding for housing projects and offer support in project planning, development, and management to contribute to the availability of high-quality and affordable housing.
The initiative is supported by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and the Government of Nova Scotia, with partnership support from the Community Housing Transformation Centre. The BCHC is set to launch in 2024.
Topics include Black Community Housing Resource Centre, Black leadership, barriers, empowerment, funding, project planning, development, management support, availability of high-quality and affordable housing, and partnerships.
