This submission to the CMHC outlines the historical and contemporary factors that have contributed to the housing crisis faced by Indigenous peoples in Canada. The paper calls on the Canadian government to recognize and implement the right to housing, in accordance with international human rights law and Indigenous self-determination, to address the housing crisis and ensure access to safe, affordable, and culturally appropriate housing for all Indigenous peoples.
