In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada released the Calls to Action (CTA), hosted on the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation website (NCTR). The work of the NCTR is to educate Canadians on the “profound injustices inflicted on First Nations, Inuit and the Métis Nation by the forced removal of children to attend residential schools and the widespread abuse suffered in those schools”. The CTA aims to redress the legacy of residential schools and work towards reconciliation in Canada. The document provides a comprehensive list of the 94 actions, which cover a range of topics, including education, language, child welfare and culture, health, and justice.
Topics include: residential schools, colonialism, reconciliation, education, language and culture, health, justice, commemoration
