Windmill Line Co-operative Homes: Solidly based for a sound future

This video discusses Windmill Line, a co-operative housing community in Toronto that was part of a redevelopment project in the 1970s/80s. Windmill Line operates as a section 95 housing co-op, and the operating agreement with CMHC which provided funding to the coop for 35 years, ended in 2018. To plan for the future and be proactive, the co-op conducted a survey on how to invest their savings, allocated 15% of its budget towards a fund for future expenses, and set up a committee to plan for various aspects, as well as used Cooperative Housing Federation of Canada’s 20/20 process to develop a vision and mission statement, build good governance and management, and plan for financial and environmental sustainability.
