The Regional Energy Coach (REC) program provides free support to community housing providers, helping them lower their environmental footprint and energy consumption.

Through personalized support, RECs help non-profits and housing cooperatives improve the sustainability of their buildings. They assist at every stage of a project, whether in planning, renovation, construction, or operations.

RECs offer strategic and technical support to help organizations learn and implement best practices in construction and renovation to maximize energy efficiency and building sustainability. They also assist housing providers in identifying funding sources for their projects.

The program is funded in partnership with the Green Municipal Fund (GMF) and offered in partnership with the BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA), the Manitoba Non-Profit Housing Association (MNPHA), Indigenous Clean Energy (ICE), the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada), the Clean Foundation and the Confédération québécoise de l’habitation cooperative (CQCH).
