Indigenous internship program – Community Housing Transformation Centre – Centre de transformation du logement communautaire

Indigenous Internship Program

The Indigenous Internship Program is a paid internship program. Its purpose is to encourage and develop the skills of future leaders in the Indigenous community housing sector and provide opportunities for them to develop their talents. The program is aimed at recent graduates interested in a career in the community housing sector and Indigenous youth (age 18 to 30 years) already working in the sector.

Interns will receive guidance and support from a full-time Indigenous coach and will also be learning about the Centre’s program and gain professional experience in project evaluation and grant oversight.

The Centre will ensure that each intern has many opportunities to engage directly with Indigenous-led community housing providers. The interns will have the opportunity to travel across the country to learn more about Indigenous housing.

Partnership Opportunities

The Centre is actively seeking partners to sponsor Indigenous interns and the program through their own organizations and/or communities. Governments and funding agencies interested in sponsoring interns are invited to contact the Centre to discuss available opportunities.
