The first annual general meeting of the PLANCHER Fund was held on November 4, 2024, in person in the City of Quebec and online.
Attendance was high, bringing together key players in Quebec’s community housing sector. The Fund already boasts nearly 40 members, each of whom brings a wealth of skills, passions, and ideas, creating a constructive collaboration that will propel the Fund’s mission to new heights.
This growth is a testament to our collective commitment to making a positive difference in the sector. Here are the key takeaways from this event and their implications for the organization’s future.
By-laws

- Group members (B) – these are associative players in the off-market residential sector. These members also have the right to attend and vote at meetings.
- Supportive members (C) – corporate bodies. These members are entitled to participate in meetings, but their voting rights are restricted to the election of the two outside directors to the Board.

Next steps
The inaugural general meeting of the PLANCHER Fund was a tremendous success. The newly appointed Board of Directors will now convene to steer the fund’s vision forward.
The upcoming steps include launching a small-scale pilot project to showcase the model’s effectiveness to government partners, recruiting new members, and engaging community housing providers interested in investing their equity.
The Centre’s team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this collective endeavor. Their presence, dedication, and contributions have been and remain crucial to the project’s success.
