Manager of Finance:
This is a one-year maternity leave coverage. The Manager of Finance is responsible for planning, guiding and maintaining accounting and financial operations. The incumbent prepares reports and documents covering accounting transactions for management review, while ensuring that The Centre’s financial records and accurate and kept using standard practices. The Manager of Finance will also work with senior management to establish The Centre’s annual budget, forecast its future needs and provide periodic financial analysis, as required. He or she will further monitor budget performance, and expenditure control. They are also responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Salary for the year: $ 88,178
Key Responsibilities:
Budget
- Monitor and report monthly on budget expenditures and variances.
- Prepare various monthly and quarterly reports to analyze the organization’s financial health, including its balance sheet, income statement and quarterly expenditures, as well as variance reports for the Finance and Audit committee.
- Prepare relevant documents and follow up on tax refunds and payments.
Pay and benefits
- Collect qualitative and quantitative feedback and pertinent information about the program.
- Work closely with managers and staff to ensure payroll and benefits are allocated according to
requirements. - Further works with The Centre’s Executive Assistants and senior leadership on the payroll system.
- Work closely with all relevant workplace insurance boards across Canada to ensure appropriate
coverage of all staff working in virtual office environment
AP and AR
- Engage with providers through sector events and communications (webinars, newsletters, etc.) as per the organization’s communications plan
- Oversee all financial transactions, including issuing and collecting payments, as well as investing funds.
- Ensure that The Centre’s invoicing procedures result in an accurate and timely disbursement of payments, including expense claims, credit card payments and other invoices.
- Monitor and record incoming payments against budget and contracts.
Annual Audit
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws with accurate and up to date financial records.
- Usage of required accounting software in order to maintain accurate records of all internal and external financial transactions.
- Provide auditors with all records, documents, and files required about the organization’s business and finances.
Investment
- Monitor and report on annual investments including GICs, work with financial institutions to maximize investment opportunities for the organization.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field, CPA designation (previous CGA, CMA or CA) would be considered an asset
- Extensive experience with software such as Payworks, Concur, QB online, etc
- Excellent time management and organizational skills as well as ability to work under pressure
- Thorough understanding of business processes to develop internal controls/procedures
- Advanced proficiency and knowledge in the use of financial and purchasing software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, database, electronic mail and other relevant software applications
- Proficient computer (MS office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database skills
- Working knowledge of English and French is considered an asset
