This webinar will present the development of this project, funded by the Centre through the Community Housing Growth Fund for Black Communities in Nova Scotia, and its impact on the community.

New Roots has used the community land trust (CLT) model to protect the African Nova Scotian community in Halifax’s North End from the risks of gentrification associated with the redevelopment of the Cogswell Interchange. By becoming a key player in urban development, the CLT aims to secure spaces to meet the needs of the community, including the future creation of a mixed-use space with housing, community spaces, a cultural center, and Black-owned businesses.

Shekara Grant, the Centre’s program manager for the project, and Jaimie Cudmore, Resource inventory manager, will host the webinar.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn and network!
