On behalf of the entire Centre team, we would like to extend our warmest wishes for the New Year.
In 2025, we will continue our efforts to strengthen and transform the community housing sector to meet the pressing needs of communities.
We firmly believe that the solution to the housing crisis lies in expanding non-market housing. Like many of its partners, the Centre believes that Canada must catch up to other OECD countries in this area and work toward a community housing stock that represent 20% of the total housing stock.
To achieve this goal, we will support the sector in :
- Preserving and increasing the number of housing units: we will work to strengthen strategic partnerships across Canada to encourage greater distribution of funds managed by the Centre and support the creation of new projects or the expansion of existing initiatives.
- Developing the resources, people and processes to diversify its leadership and enhance viability: we will engage in initiatives that promote representation, skills enhancement, and professional recognition of workers.
Through a collaborative and strategic approach, we will continue to respond to today’s challenges while preparing for a future where community housing needs are better met across the country. We look forward to continuing this journey with you throughout the New Year and beyond, to build a future where everyone enjoys a dignified and stable home.
