SEPTEMBER

Regional Education, Networking and Tradeshow R.E.N.T. – BCNPHA

September 12th, Coast Capri Hotel, Kelowna, BC

BCNPHA’s RENT events provide the affordable housing sector with local opportunities for professional development, education, and networking, featuring keynote sessions and diverse themes like Indigenous housing and community living. These events are led by thought leaders, industry experts, and individuals with lived experience.

Nearly 200 delegates from BC’s Interior region will gather for a day of learning and networking. Topics like housing navigation for seniors, building a healthy staff culture, and Indigenous housing research will be explored.

The Centre will attend – in the presence of Alex Wolf, Program manager BC, Nunavut, NWT, Yukon.


OCTOBER

Rendez-vous citoyen du Bas-Saint-Laurent – Jasons habitation

October 4 – 9 to 4.30 p.m. Hotel Rimouski, Rimouski, QC

An event designed for residents, elected officials, and community stakeholders to educate, empower, and mobilize them to ensure everyone has access to quality housing.

The Centre will have a trade show table at this event to talk about the PLANCHER Fund and the Organizational Compass.

MNPHA’s 12th Annual building partnerships conference

October 21 -22 – Keystone Center, Brandon, MB

The Centre is happy to sponsor Manitoba’s Non-Profit Housing Association (MNPHA) second conference in Brandon, focusing on housing solutions in Manitoba’s smaller and rural communities. Speakers will share insights on protecting, renewing, and expanding non-profit housing across the province.

Don’t miss our presence on stage:
Stephan Richard
, Development director, will be participating in the panel discussion following the keynote presentation.
Stefanie Einfeld, Manager of the Regional Energy Coach Program, and Michelle Matkowsky, Intern, will be discussing building leaders in non-profit housing.
François Fayad, Communications director, will present an analysis of the Manitoban community housing sector using data from the Organizational Compass.
Joseph Daniels, Development manager, will present the Housing School.

CAEH’s National Conference on Ending Homelessness

October 29 to 31 – Shaw Center, Ottawa, ON

The program features over 85 sessions led by hundreds of experts from around the world, attracting up to 2,000 participants from Canada and beyond. Topics include campaign and advocacy, reconciliation, and indigenous homelessness, as well as responses to unsheltered homelessness, and youth and women’s homelessness.

The Centre’s Acting executive director Lisa Ker will participate in a panel discussion about capacity building, hosted by the CMHC.


NOVEMBER

Parce que l’avenir nous habite – RQOH

5 – 6 November – Hôtel le Concorde, Québec, QC

The symposium “Parce que l’avenir nous habite” is a major event in Quebec, bringing together community housing players, speakers, and institutional and government partners. It features plenary sessions, presentations on best practices in real estate development, training workshops and guided tours. This biennial event is a unique opportunity to network and share knowledge.

Development manager Luc Labelle will introduce the PLANCHER Fund, while Kathrine Lapalme will present the Regional Energy Coaching program, in collaboration with the GMF.

2024 ONPHA Conference – Building Bridges

7-9 November, Shaw Centre and Westin, Ottawa, ON

This ONPHA conference aims to foster inclusive and sustainable housing solutions through strategic partnerships, offering sessions on innovative solutions, networking opportunities, and professional development for the affordable housing sector.

The Centre will be at the trade show, and Teresa Guillem, RentSmart manager at the Centre, will present the RentSmart program.

BC Housing Central Conference

November 18 – 20, Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel, Vancouver, BC

The annual Housing Central Conference, in collaboration with the Aboriginal Housing Management Association and the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC, is Canada’s leading professional development event for the community housing sector. It features keynote speakers, educational sessions, tradeshow exhibitors, and special events over three days, fostering knowledge sharing, idea exchange, and inspiration.

The Centre will be sponsoring and giving two presentations (TBD).

Nova Scotia Housing Symposium

November 18 – Halifax, NS

Our Communications director François Fayad will present an analysis of the Nova Scotian community housing sector based on the Organizational Compass.

Dwayne Wright and Amanda Knight, both Program managers for Nova Scotia, are going to present the Community Housing Growth Fund and the Community Housing Capital Fund.
