Gaining Ground—CLT Summit 2025

Organizer: Canadian Network of Community Land Trusts (CNCLT)
Date: September 11–14
Location: Halifax Convention Centre, Halifax, N.S.
About: The national summit on community land trusts explores land stewardship, housing affordability, and community ownership models, with panels, workshops, and field trips.

RENT Vancouver Island

2025 Study Tour: Helsinki, Finland

About: This international study tour gives participants an inside look at Finland’s Housing-First model and innovative approaches to ending homelessness.

Congrès d’orientation CQCH

Organizer: Confédération québécoise des coopératives d’habitation (CQCH)
Date: October 3–5
Location: Laval, Que.
About: The triennial congress charts the future of co-operative housing in Quebec, with debates, policy discussions, and networking among housing co-ops.

MNPHA Conference

Organizer: Manitoba Non-Profit Housing Association (MNPHA)
Date: October 6–7
Location: Winnipeg, Man.
About: Manitoba’s flagship housing conference brings together non-profit providers, policymakers, and partners to strengthen affordable housing through collaboration.

Centre’s attendance:

  • Stefanie Einfeld, manager Regional Energy Coach program, will facilitate the session Learning from Design Mistakes: Identifying Opportunities for Change. Oct. 7 at 10:45 a.m.
  • Stephan Richard, director of development, will present strategies to grow the sector, including insights from the Centre’s Opportunities Analysis in Atlantic Canada at Bundling Assets for Scaling Up Non-Profit Housing with Dr. Carolyn Whitzman, Oct. 6 at 3:15 p.m.

2025 NL Housing and Homelessness Network Conference

Organizer: Newfoundland & Labrador Housing and Homelessness Network (NLHHN)
Date: October 7–9
Location: Gander, N.L.
About: A provincial gathering to exchange knowledge, share strategies, and build momentum for addressing housing insecurity and homelessness in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Centre’s attendance:

  • Stephan Richard, director of development will present Unlocking growth: a new way to build investments readiness in community housing on October 9.
  • François Fayad, communications director
  • Kerri Flemming, program manager Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick.
  • François and Kerri will give the presentation From Insight to Action: Strengthening NL’s Community Housing with the Organizational Compass

Canada Home Energy Justice Conference

Organizer: Energy Conference Network/Efficiency Canada

About: The conference brings together researchers, program providers and organizations to advance energy efficiency and equity. Participants will share insights, collaborate, and explore community-led solutions for a just and sustainable energy future.

Centre’s attendance:

  • Majed Hargaaya, Regional Energy Coach will participate in the session Benefits Beyond kWh—Case Studies, where he will present a case study showing how an energy-efficient retrofit delivered not only economic benefits but also health and social gains for tenants. October 8, at 11:45 a.m.

Nonprofit Driven Regional Connects: Durham

Organizer: Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN)

About: A regional gathering for nonprofits, charities, and community organizations to network, deepen relationships, and tackle overarching sector-wide challenges.

Organizer: United Way Maritimes, the Halifax Housing and Homelessness Partnership (HHP), with the Nova Scotia Non-Profit Housing Association (NSNPHA)

About: This symposium brings stakeholders together to shift from urgent crisis response toward long-term commitments in housing solutions for Nova Scotia.
