The Manager, Communications reports to the Director of Communications and is responsible for implementing the Centre`s communication strategy. The Manager, Communications manages and implements communication plan deliverables in support of the Centre’s communications objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft annual plan for communication activities based on established priorities, including programs and Centre initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify communication needs and incorporate into the annual plan.
  • Manage a team of communications professionals in meeting the Centre’s communications objectives, including overseeing the logistics of events.
  • Monitor the performance of communications activities, produce dashboards and performance reports to manage the annual plan with performance metrics and budget. Analyze data from the website, newsletter and digital platforms.
  • Develop communication plan templates. Manage and report on team workflow process, documents, projects, and tracking of activities to ensure timelines and milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice and messaging across all channels.
  • Oversee the creation of and produce and edit high-quality sector-related content (newsletters, articles, case studies, briefs, whitepapers, website content, social media).
  • Develop and coordinate communication campaigns across digital platforms and adjust dissemination strategies based on results.
  • Oversee the development of targeted digital campaigns and manage the communications aspect of the Centre’s participation at conferences, webinars, and events to align with marketing and sales objectives. Prepare communication tools for conferences and events.
  • Collaborate with the Knowledge Sharing unit to develop thematic content series to engage and educate stakeholders, through webinars, podcasts, and other multimedia formats.
  • Transform events and lessons learned from programs and events into reusable and shareable content.
  • Prepare speeches, presentations, and briefing materials for leadership and support other teams in communicating the Centre’s projects.
  • Oversee website and social media strategies and performance.
  • Ensure bilingual or accessible communications as required.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive communications experience (preferably in non-profit, sector council, or industry association)
  • Knowledge of community housing (an asset)
  • Experience translating technical or research content into clear messaging
  • Digital communications expertise (email marketing, social media, analytics)
  • Project management expertise (ClickUp)
  • Excellent written French and English
