The price-dampening effect of non-profit housing | WIFO

This research brief by Michael Klien, Peter Huber, Peter Reschenhofer from WIFO and Gerlinde Gutheil-Knopp-Kirchwald and Gerald Kössl from GBV examines the impact of non-profit housing on Austria’s for-profit housing market. Based on data from the last 50 years, the study reveals that a 10% increase in non-profit housing associations can reduce non-regulated rents by 30 to 40 cents per m², equating to about 5% cheaper rents.
International example (Austria).

Topics include non-profit housing impact, rent levels, and housing market dynamics.
