This resource, hosted by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), presents the goals of the Solutions Lab “Community Studios Solutions Lab,” a National Housing Strategy (NHS) initiative aimed at developing cost-effective supportive housing solutions for smaller and rural communities in Quebec. The lab focuses on reducing construction costs through studio apartment designs, leveraging local labour and wood-frame construction, and simplifying the management of social housing for cooperatives and non-profit organizations.
