EDMONTON – The Community Housing Transformation Centre is seeking up to four local non-profit housing providers to join Coaching for Growth, a new capacity building pilot designed to help organizations strengthen readiness, improve execution, and grow non-market housing in Edmonton. The 18-month pilot is built for housing providers that are ready to move from strategic intent to practical action.

Delivered by the Centre in partnership with LIFT Impact Partners the Edmonton initiative will support a small cohort of organizations through a structured process that combines peer learning, organizational assessment, board-approved strategy development, one-on-one coaching, and targeted technical support. The pilot is funded by the City of Edmonton and the Centre, allowing participating organizations to take part at no cost and access implementation funding of up to $50,000 per organization.

Edmonton’s need for affordable and non-market housing remains significant. The City’s Affordable Housing Strategy identifies more than 46,000 households in core housing need and calls for stronger capacity across the housing system to expand supply and improve delivery. Coaching for Growth is designed to respond to that reality by helping community housing providers build the governance, financial readiness, and execution discipline needed to pursue growth with confidence.

Unlike traditional planning-heavy programs, Coaching for Growth is focused on execution. Over the first six –months, participating organizations will work through cohort-based learning, organizational diagnostics, the development of a board-approved three-year growth strategy, capacity building roadmap, as well as a cohort collaboration plan. Over the following 12 months, they will receive monthly one-on-one coaching and access to targeted expertise to turn strategy into action, and address barriers as they emerge.

Eligible organizations include non-profits, registered charities, and co-operatives operating in the Edmonton region that:

  • have at least three years of operating experience
  • own or control at least one housing property
  • can identify a real near-term housing opportunity
  • are prepared to commit senior leadership and board participation at key stages of the pilot.

Community housing providers interested in joining the pilot are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by completing the application form.
