From vision to action: The strategic journey of Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society

How can we address the growing demand for affordable community housing in the current economic context? Most community housing business models are struggling to generate results at the scale needed to meaningfully address the crisis.

This is Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society (ENFHS) realization. The complexity of the housing crisis, rising costs, and growing demand, combined with expiring operating agreements, made it clear that a purely operational focus would not be enough to meet community needs or ensure organizational sustainability.

To remain impactful and financially sustainable, ENFHS needed to evolve into a growth-oriented organization with strong development, financing, leadership, and partnerships.

Join us for a Centre’s Knowledge Sharing Series webinar featuring Lilian Chau, CEO of Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society. She will share practical insights into how her organization implemented its new strategic plan to grow with purpose and double its impact by 2028, while considering the need to pivot and be responsive to changing funding landscapes.

Moderated by Severn Nelson, Program Manager at the Centre, the session will explore how ENFHS has undertaken a major strategic shift by adopting an approach focused on partnership capacity and business mindset in service of a charitable purpose. It will also highlight the critical role of resolute strategic thinking, organizational self-exploration grounded in theory of change, and internal capacities (including governance, financial expertise, and leadership) as essential foundations for organizational growth.

This webinar will provide practical guidance on how to:

  • Shift from an operational focus to a mission-led entrepreneurial focus that can sustain itself and grow despite funding environment shifts;
  • Become a housing provider capable of delivering large-scale, mixed-income communities while maintaining deep affordability and equity

This webinar is particularly aimed at senior management, board members, portfolio managers and sector leaders seeking to strengthen their organizational capacities and to grow with purpose.

Note: This webinar will be offered in English and French thanks to simultaneous interpretation.
