The Centre invites partners in the housing sector to be a crucial part of a transformative initiative: the Indigenous Internship Program. Together we can create impact, building solid leadership skills for individuals who share in the passion of a strong community housing sector. One that reflects many voices.

The Centre’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous talent is at the heart of our vision of a more equitable and empowered future. The Indigenous Internship Program is a cornerstone of this commitment, designed to provide aspiring individuals with the leadership skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to thrive in the community housing sector.

Why partner with us for this program?

Impactful Social Change: By sponsoring our program, you directly contribute to breaking down barriers and fostering inclusive environments within the community housing sector. Your support enables us to create capacity within the sector as well as assist organizations like yours with succession planning by having access to a talented pool of candidates.

Build a Diverse Workforce: A diverse workforce is a catalyst for innovation and excellence. Your sponsorship helps us create a pipeline of skilled Indigenous professionals, contributing to a more vibrant community housing sector.

Demonstrate commitment to JEDI: Showcase your organization’s commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion by supporting initiatives that drive positive change.

How you can make a difference:

Financial Support: Your financial sponsorship will directly fund program activities, including training, mentorship, travel and resources for Indigenous interns. Every dollar contributed goes toward creating opportunities for growth and success.

Mentorship Opportunities: Share the wealth of knowledge within your organization by offering mentorship opportunities to our interns. Your team can play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of leaders in the community housing sector.

Networking and collaboration: Join a network of like-minded organizations committed to driving positive change. Your sponsorship opens the door to collaboration, allowing us to collectively address challenges and create sustainable solutions.

This is the second year of the internship program and we have adapted it through research, lessons learned and feedback from our first cohort.

The mentors and colleagues I have met along the way have been a source of motivation and encouragement. I am now firmly committed to contributing to Indigenous communities and the wider community housing sector, believing that collaboration has the power to bring about meaningful change.” Christina Gervais.

Partnerships with organizations like yours directly contribute to the commitment and motivation for the interns to succeed. By sponsoring our Indigenous Internship Program, you contribute not only to the success of individuals but also to the broader goal of creating a more inclusive and thriving community housing sector.
