Excel Society
With over 60 years of service in Alberta, Excel Society is a trusted leader in community living and supportive services. The organization provides housing, support, and enrichment programs for individuals living with disabilities and complex mental health diagnoses. Operating 42 residential group homes in Edmonton alone, Excel Society offers 24/7 care and innovative programs like the Wellness Integrated Support Home (WISH) program in partnership with Alberta Health Services. Their person-centered approach and commitment to exceptional care make them a vital partner in Edmonton’s housing ecosystem.
Jasper Place Wellness Centre (JPWC)
Since 2006, JPWC has been transforming communities by addressing inequities in health, housing, and employment. As a registered charity, JPWC delivers bold, practical solutions including community-based healthcare, affordable housing, and social enterprises that empower people experiencing poverty to achieve autonomy and stability. The organization is renowned for its Bridge Healing program, a transitional accommodation model that helps patients experiencing homelessness move directly from emergency care into stable, supportive housing. JPWC’s holistic approach addresses the root causes of housing instability while providing immediate, dignified solutions.
NiGiNan Housing Ventures
NiGiNan Housing Ventures is an Indigenous-led, registered charity providing supportive housing for individuals with complex medical and social needs. Guided by the four natural laws—kindness, honesty, sharing, and strength—NiGiNan operates four supportive housing developments in Edmonton offering wraparound services, cultural programming, and 24/7 support. Since opening its first building in 2014, NiGiNan has housed over 600 individuals. Their decolonized, Indigenous-led approach is critical to addressing the disproportionate homelessness faced by Indigenous peoples in Edmonton, who represent over 58% of the city’s unhoused population.
Right at Home Canada
Right at Home Canada is a CARF-accredited (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities ) home care provider offering in-home support services, including companion care, personal care, nursing care, and specialty care for conditions like Alzheimer’s and diabetes. As a client-directed care provider, Right at Home empowers individuals to age in place with dignity and independence. With a network of care offices across Canada, including in Edmonton, the organization brings expertise in home-based health supports and community integration, both of which are essential components for ensuring housing stability for vulnerable populations.
About the Coaching for Growth Edmonton pilot
Launched in April 2026, the pilot is an 18-month program designed for housing providers ready to move from strategic intent to practical action. Unlike traditional planning-heavy initiatives, it emphasizes execution and tangible outcomes. Participating organizations will engage in a structured process that includes:
- Cohort-based peer learning and organizational diagnostics
- Development of a board-approved three-year growth strategy and capacity-building roadmap
- Monthly one-on-one coaching to address emerging barriers
- Access to targeted technical expertise and implementation funding of up to $50,000 per organization
This pilot responds directly to Edmonton’s significant need for affordable housing, where the City’s Affordable Housing Strategy identifies more than 46,000 households in core housing need. By strengthening the governance, financial readiness, and execution discipline of community housing providers, the program aims to expand supply and improve delivery across the housing system.
By investing in capacity building and execution-focused support, the program aims to create a ripple effect strengthening both individual organizations and the community housing sector in Edmonton.
The Centre is also seeking partners to help scale this initiative. Help launch a Coaching for Growth program in your community! Contact Joseph Daniels to find out more.
