Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Website Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Centre’s website. The incumbent ensures the website is accessible, visually engaging, secure, optimized for search engines, and aligned with the Centre’s brand and communications objectives. Working closely with the Communications team, the Website Manager develops and maintains web content, supports digital campaigns, monitors website performance, and recommends improvements that enhance the user experience and website effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and update the Centre’s WordPress website using the Divi theme and builder.
  • Develop and publish webpages, landing pages, graphics, and other digital content that align with the Centre’s brand standards.
  • Monitor website performance, security, functionality, and accessibility, ensuring timely updates, backups, and issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain search engine optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) best practices to improve website visibility and performance.
  • Monitor website analytics and user behaviour using tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console, and recommend improvements based on findings.
  • Improve website usability and user experience by applying UX and accessibility best practices, including WCAG 2.1 standards.
  • Collaborate with Communications and program teams to support campaigns, events, announcements, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Create and maintain digital graphics and visual assets for the Centre’s websites and related communications materials.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and external service providers to support website enhancements and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain website documentation, standards, and content management processes.
  • Manage and collaborate with IT on the design, enhancement, and maintenance of the Resource Inventory user interface.
  • Add resources to the Resource Inventory CRM and online and ensure links are active.
  • Stay current with WordPress, web design, SEO, GEO, accessibility, and digital communications best practices and apply them where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the Communications team and support other Centre initiatives as required.
  • Understand and adhere to the social values and strategic objectives of the Centre.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in Web Development, Digital Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing WordPress websites in a professional environment.
  • Proven experience using the Divi theme and Divi Builder is required.
  • Experience improving website performance through SEO, GEO, UX, and accessibility enhancements.
  • Experience interpreting website analytics and implementing improvements.
  • Experience creating digital graphics and visual content.
  • Experience with CRMs (Airtable and SalesForce)
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of WordPress administration, plugin management, theme customization, and website maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Advanced understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO.
  • Proven experience with SEO tools (e.g. Yoast SEO, SEMrush)
  • Understanding of GEO tools
  • Hands-on experience using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager
  • Knowledge of structured data/schema markup and its implementation.
  • Bilingualism is required for this position – Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
