Project Summary

The project aims to develop a platform for housing cooperative members that connects needs to resources, facilitates strong and supportive relationships, and provides a vessel for digitizing and sharing knowledge both within individual housing cooperatives and across the sector. This tool is designed to keep the movement in tune with modern means of communication and adapt to evolving social interaction practices. Thus, keeping housing communities as places that help overcome social isolation, disengagement, and dependency. It will provide the members with opportunities to meet each other, share knowledge, and organize initiatives in their neighborhoods. Members with low computer literacy skills will be testing the platform during the development phase. Once the platform is up and running in BC and following the motto of ‘’Knowledge Shared is Knowledge Squared’’, the organization has plans to make it available in coops all over the country.
