Position Overview

As a visionary leader passionate about educational excellence and innovation within the community housing sector, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and operational execution of the national Housing School Initiative. This project aims to address Canada’s critical housing challenges by enhancing professional development in the community housing sector and recognizing the skills and competencies of its members. You will ensure a smooth transition from project initiation to program operations, focusing on execution, program expansion, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement. Your goal is the long-term sustainability of the program and ensure a positive learner experience.

This role is perfect for candidates who blend expertise in adult education and professional development with proficiency in digital service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a customer-centric mindset, a deep understanding of using customer insights to drive change, strong project management skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program policies, processes, and guidelines to support the Housing School’s ongoing operations.
  • Evaluate project pilot phase using data to drive decisions for enhancing value and impact.
  • Assist in the development of a 5-year business plan, including the development of program budget.
  • Oversee the program’s successful implementation and operations, including course delivery, certification, and Learning Management System (LMS) platform management.
  • Cultivate partnerships with content providers, sector organizations, and stakeholders to enrich the program and learners experience.
  • Support the work of the Education Advisory Committee.
  • Support the promotion of the program and represent the Centre at various events and conferences.
  • Generate detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders, outlining program progress and strategic insights.
  • Assist the Development team in engaging sponsors, funders, and stakeholders through data analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred (e.g. Education, Business Administration, Project Management). MBA, MPA, or MES is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program administration, preferably within the education and non-profit sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage educational or training programs, with a focus on online or blended learning environments.
  • Proficiency with Open-Source Learning Management Systems (LMS), Customer Relationship Management systems (CRM) systems, modern project management tools.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability to manage a technical team, multiple stakeholders, and cross functional teams.
  • Excellent understanding of the instructional design and workflows.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future trends and challenges in adult education and the housing sector.
  • Solid understanding of the community housing sector and related educational needs is highly preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, 2-year term with a possibility of renewal.
  • The position includes flexible working arrangements, including remote work and occasional travel.
  • Dynamic work environment that requires adaptability to changing needs and opportunities.
  • Compensation of $84,787.50 followed by a $5,000 salary increase upon completion of 6-month probation for an annual salary of $89,787.50.
